Farragon Hills

Main Walk, 2 Corbetts, 9½ miles (15 km), 700m ascent, walk duration 6 hrs with stops. Map 52

These two Corbetts are located north of Aberfeldy. The bus will take us to the start, S of Tummel Bridge, at 780563 where we follow an initially steep track SE up through the forest, leaving the track briefly for a  detour S to the summit of Meall Tairneachan (807544).
The track continues E past a disused opencast barytes mine (as used in drilling mud for the oil industry), leaving the track to head E onto the hillside around 835550, from where a steep climb through a gap in the crags brings us to the top of Farragon Hill (841553).
We retrace our steps a short way down and contour NE, then E, to pick up a prominent track heading down, SE, past Loch Derculich.
Taking the right fork, we continue down through the forest to Brae of Cluny, then past the farms of Aodin and Tom of Cluny.

A twisty tarmac descent takes us to the bus rendezvous at 877511, on the road above Boat of Cluny.

This is a fairly short walk, so there is no alternative.
