Bus leaving Gordondale Road at 9am

The scheduled walk to Lord Arthur's Hill is cancelled due to this weeks adverse weather conditions.

As a lower and more accessible replacement, we will get the bus to Castle Fraser, taking in roads, tracks and trails around the NTS site and the adjacent estate.

We will start from the main car park, heading around the field margin to Alton Brae.

From there we pass a small lochan to the road parallel to the Muchalls burn. 
Crowness and the cattle grid leads to the short climb to Lauchentilly Wood and the wind turbines.

Heading SW, we traverse the hillside to Braeneil and descend to the Dunecht-Kemnay road.

After 50 metres we take the estate road and climb to Gallow Hill, with (hopefully)excellent views to the Hill 'o' Fare and Bennachie.

A gravel descent to West Mains and a tarmac return to Castle Fraser, again crossing the main road.

Miss Bristow's Wood can be added to the indicated route if desired.

Please note that the bus leaving time has been changed to 0900 from our usual departure site, Gordondale Road.
